Congressman David W. Jolly was elected to represent Florida’s 13th Congressional District during a Special Election after the passing of Congressman C.W. Bill Young. As a member of the 113th Congress, Congressman Jolly serves on the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee and the House Veterans' Affairs Committee, as well as the Water Resources and Environment Subcommittee and Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation Subcommittee of the full Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. Within weeks of being elected, Congressman Jolly fulfilled many campaign promises, including filing legislation to fix flood insurance, fighting for veterans' rights, urging his colleagues in the U.S. House and Senate to extend the life of ongoing beach renourishment projects for Pinellas County and protecting Pinellas County-based defense industry assets, and co-sponsored the bipartisan Savings, Accountability, Value and Efficiency III (SAVE III) Act to cut approximately $102 billion of government spending over 10 years by rooting out waste and improving government efficiency.
